This is info on Leydi. She desperately needs a sponsor and I'm trying to help find one for her. If you can change one child's life, please make it hers! $22 a month is such a small amount to make a BIG difference in her life however long it may be.

"Leydi just turned 8 on the first of June. She lives in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic with her grandmother, one older sister, and cousins. She was just recently diagnosed with HIV (in 2008, I believe). She went in to get her belly looked at because she has an umbilical hernia, and that is when they discovered her HIV+ status. Her mother has already passed away from AIDS, and as of October 2008 her father works as a daily worker. Her grandmother can not afford all of the things that the children in the household require. Leydi needs a fundraiser ASAP in order to raise money for food and clothes. She could, also, use a bed. She is just learning to write, but she writes her own letters. She is always happy and appreciative. Leydi will be having surgery eventually (when they decide that it is a good time for it) to correct the umbilical hernia. She receives medicine from the country's health system for HIV. CI provides vitamins and check ups."
